LEGAL NOTICE

The Women's Vote Centennial Initiative ("WVCI") shares your concerns about maintaining the privacy of personal information collected on the Internet. The following privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) discloses the information gathering and dissemination practices of WVCI in connection with the 2020centennial.org web site (the “Site”).    

Our Privacy Policy only applies to this Site. You should read the Privacy Policy at each web site that you visit after you leave our Site. We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices or the content of any third-party web sites. 

1. Collection of Personal Information from Site Users.  We may collect and/or track information provided to us by your browser, including the web site you came from, the type of browser you use, the time and date of access, and other information that does not personally identify you. In addition, we gather information about you that is automatically collected by our web server, such as your IP address and domain name. 

In addition, we may collect and/or track (a) the e-mail addresses of users that communicate with us or the Site via e-mail, (b) information knowingly provided by the visitor in duplication request forms and other correspondence with us through or related to the Site (including name, address, phone number, e-mail, and other personal profile data), and (c) aggregate and user-specific information on which pages users access. 

When you perform a search within the Site, we may also record limited information associated with every search request made by you and use that information to, among other things, solve technical problems with the service and to calculate overall usage statistics. 

We may place Internet “cookies” on users’ computer hard drives.  Internet cookies save data about individual users, such as the user’s name, password, user-name, screen preferences, and the pages of a site viewed by the user. When a user revisits the Site, WVCI may recognize the user by the Internet cookie and customize the user experience accordingly. Users may decline Internet cookies, if any, by using the appropriate feature of their computer system software, if available. 

2. Use and Disclosure of Personal Data Collected.  We may use the personal data we collect (including your e-mail address) to operate the Site, process your image request forms and fee payments, respond to any requests for information, verify your identity, contact you regarding a transaction, for a statistical analysis of users’ behavior, and for content improvement and customization. We may also forward any requests for assistance to another appropriate institution to assist in responding to your request upon your prior written approval.   

We may also use your e-mail address or other contact information to send you invitations to our sponsored events, information about services and products of WVCI that we believe may be of interest to you, solicitation letters, and newsletters informing you of various activities of WVCI.  When you receive such information by email or in hard copy form, you will have the choice to opt-out of receiving additional information from us by sending us an email or correspondence to the address set forth in Section 4 below and indicating that you do not wish to receive such information. 

We will not disclose to any other third parties any individually identifying information, such as names, postal and e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, and other personal information users provide voluntarily to us, except to the extent necessary to comply with applicable laws or valid legal processes, or to protect the rights or property of WVCI.   

3. Security Measures.  We have implemented security features to prevent the unauthorized release of or access to personal information. Please note, however, that while we have endeavored to maintain security and reliability for users of the Site, the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted to/from us via the Site or e-mail cannot be guaranteed. Accordingly, we are not responsible for the security of information transmitted via the Internet. For more private communication, users can contact us at info@2020centennial.org.

5. Collection of Personal Data from Children.  This Site is not intended for children under the age of thirteen. We will not knowingly collect information from Site visitors in this age group.   

6. WVCI’s Right to Change Privacy Policy.  The foregoing policy is effective as of December 2017. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time by posting a new or revised privacy policy on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after a new or revised privacy policy is posted on the Site shall constitute your acceptance of any such changes to this policy. Please check back periodically, and especially before you provide any personally identifiable information.
